The Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Supply (Mapa) have selected 28 pesticides that will be prioritized in the analysis of registration processes (table attached).
According to Mapa, the selection chose priorities after evaluation among 394 eligible products from 67 registrant companies.
According to the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, priority has been accorded to registration processes for agrochemicals that control the pests that most concern agriculture in the country today.
Brazilian government officials say the selection complies with and was carried out according to the criteria defined in Ordinance No. Nº 581/2022, which aims to control important pests in Brazilian agriculture.
The procedure seeks to promote competitiveness, manufacture, and national formulation of pesticides that target these pests.
In addition, the ordinance seeks to bring objective criteria and provide transparency in choosing the registration claims to be prioritized.
″The selection intends to speed up the approval of solutions for the chemical control of the phytosanitary problems that most afflict farmers at the moment,″ explained Director of the Department of Plant Health and Agricultural Inputs, Carlos Goulart.
