Corteva Agriscience's big bet for weed control is the new 2,4-D choline salt, with the commercial brand Enlist® Colex-D® herbicide.
The pesticide is the highlight of the multinational company in the 32nd edition of the Brazilian Congress of the Science of Weeds, which takes place this week in Rio Verde city, state of Goiás, and has the exclusive coverage of AgroPages.
The Enlist® Colex-D® herbicide is part of Corteva's Enlist® System, which offers weed and caterpillar control by combining ″high performance genetics with cutting edge technologies.″
According to the manufacturer, the new 2,4-D choline salt ″offers more practicality and flexibility to the producer, who can use the product from desiccation to post-emergence of soybeans, and presents benefits such as reducing the potential for soybean drift. up to 90%, reduced odor and ultra-low volatility.″
Another highlight of Corteva at the event is Paxeo®, which is part of a new family of desiccant herbicides with the exclusive Arylex™ active technology, developed after more than 10 years of research.
″Indicated for the control of resistant and tolerant weeds in soybeans, such as horseweed and bitter grass, the product has unique benefits such as superior control in drought conditions, residual action in soybean pre-planting, without cross-resistance and antagonism with graminicides, offering pre- and post-emergence control,″ the agrochemical multinational said.
At Corteva's stand, a historical comparison is the evolutions in the weed control system that existed about 15 years ago and the current technologies.
In 2005, soybean yields were 39 bags per hectare, with many weed species resistant to glyphosate and limited options for post-emergence use, in addition to problems with drift.
″Today, with the update of the cell phone operating system present in the activation of Enlist® at the company's stand, the producer has at his disposal a much more modern and efficient weed control system,″ Corteva said.
Promoted since 1956 by the Brazilian Society of Weed Science (SBCPD), the 32nd edition of the Brazilian Congress of Weed Science (CBCPD) discusses the theme ″Weeds and their interactions in production systems.″
The event, jointly organized by the University of Rio Verde, State University of Maringá and Embrapa, brings together rural producers, educational institutions, researchers and companies in the sector to discuss what is most current about this area in Brazil and the world.
