The multinational BASF announced in Brazil the launch of the fungicide Zampro (Ametoctradin + Dimethomorph), which was officially presented to the market during the 27th edition of Hortitec – the largest fair in the horticulture, protected cultivation, and intensive crops sector in Latin America.
According to the manufacturer, Zampro is the new fungicide indicated for the control and management of diseases such as late blight and mildew and can be used in different cultures, with emphasis on the application in tomato, grape, and potato crops.
The product is a contact and systemic fungicide indicated for the control of foliar diseases in crops. It is composed of a dual mode of action, through the active ingredient Ametoctradin, which effectively inhibits the transport of electrons in the fungal mitochondria, and the active ingredient Dimethomorph, which inhibits the formation of the fungal cell wall, promoting control at all stages of development.
The fungicide provides, according to BASF, ″a potent preventive action in all stages of the fungus, greater practicality and flexibility of use throughout the cultivation cycle to keep the plantations healthy and reaching greater productive potential.″
″BASF has been offering innovations for phytosanitary control in fruits and vegetables to contribute to the legacy of farmers. Globally, we invest approximately €900 million per year in the research and development of new technologies for agriculture. The result can be seen with the offer of a portfolio of complete solutions for our client,″ commented Rodrigo Pifano, Marketing Manager for Hortifruti at BASF in Brazil.
