The Chinese National Bureau of Statistics has stated that a survey of China’s 25 summer grain producing provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities), has revealed the sown area, per-unit yield and total output of summer crops in 2022.
These are as follows:
1) The country’s summer crop sown area is 26.53 million hectares, up 0.3% year on year, an increase of 92,100 hectares over 2021, of which the sown area of wheat is 22.962 million hectares, up 0.2% year on year, an increase of 50,800 hectares over 2021.
2) The country’s summer crop per-unit yield is 5,555.60 kg / ha (370.4 kg / mu, 1 mu = 1/15 ha), up 0.6% year on year, an increase of 34.9 kg / ha (2.3 kg / mu) over 2021, of which the per-unit yield of wheat is 5,912.30 kg/ha (394.2 kg/mu), up 0.7% year on year, an increase of 43.0 kg/ha (2.9 kg/mu) over 2021.

China’s good summer crop harvest in 2022 lays a good foundation for stabilized grain production for the entire year. This will strongly back stabilization of commodity prices and people’s livelihood and the economic stability and the capability to cope with the uncertainties from the external environment.
