ADAMA announced in Brazil the launch of Apresa, a premium pre-emergent herbicide for various crops, which has an exclusive combination of active ingredients: Flumioxazin + S-metolachlor.
The product’s primary focus is the soybean crop, which is increasingly vulnerable to the weeds Digitaria insularis and Eleusine indica.
These are two of the most prominent invaders of Brazilian soybean crops and harm the proper development of the crop, requiring control even before they appear.
These weeds occurs throughout the crop cycle, but it is in early development where the impact on productivity is highest.
As a result, says ADAMA, an “effective pre-emergence management is necessary so that the producer does not have a headache later on with productivity losses, as this can reach 45% with bitter grass, if not controlled, for example.”
“In recent harvests, there has been a significant increase in the adoption of weed control measures, mainly due to resistance to actives that are used on a large scale, in addition to weed species that have become more relevant, making control difficult, that requires preventive management”, says João Ibelli, manager of Portfolio – Herbicides at ADAMA.

The launch is part of a series of investments by the company in innovation to bring the most modern to Brazilian agriculture.
ADAMA positions itself as a company “totally focused on technology, which invests more than US$ 10 million/year in Research and Development in Brazil alone.”
The Apresa herbicide has an exclusive T.O.V formulation, which makes it easier to apply, to "simplify the farmer's life."
“We consider Apresa a revolution for the farmer because its formulation manages to put together, and in high concentration, two actives that have very different characteristics, resulting in a unique product that is easy to handle and apply,” Ibelli concluded.
