Recently, the environmental impact assessment about the pesticide technical project of Shandong Hailir Chemical has been approved by the local ecological and environmental bureau.
The project, which is in Weifang Binhai Chemical Industrial Park of Shandong Province, intends to use the east part (initially for 500-ton pymetrozine and 200-ton fosthiazate projects, which are not built) of the existing plant area of the 6,700-ton insecticide technical plant (Phase II) for construction of the clothianidin and thiamethoxam project.
Upon completion, the project will establish an annual production capacity of 3,000 tons of clothianidin, 5,000-tons of thiamethoxam, 4,000 tons of 2,3-dichloropropene (intermediate), 5,500 tons of 2-chloro-5-chloromethylthiazole (intermediate) and 2,350 tons of triazine (intermediate).
The project takes a total investment of RMB300.76 million, of which RMB20 million is spent on pollution control accounting for 6.65% of the total investment.
