Canadian giant Nutrien has announced plans to build four fertilizer blending plants in Brazil and increase the capacity of the four existing plants.
Thus, Nutrien intends to double its capacity in Brazil amid the high prices of agrochemicals and their scarcity in the global market.
Commissioning of the new plants is scheduled for 2023. Its proximity to the latter will allow Nutrien to avoid interruptions in supply, unlike its competitors with businesses located close to seaports.
Nutrien set a record one million tonnes of mineral fertilizers sold in Latin America this year. Overall, the company forecasts a 40% increase in sales of agrochemicals by the end of 2021.
