On November 29, Vietnam’s PPD urgently issued a draft of new regulation. Some active ingredients that have toxic effect to human health, livestock, ecosystems and the environment will be gradually removed from the permitted use list of in 2022-2023.
In the second quarter of 2022, the insecticides carbosulfan and benfuracarb will be banned. Chlorothalonil will be banned in the fourth quarter of 2023. The fungicides mancozeb, zineb, maneb and ziram will be banned in the first quarter of 2023. The herbicides atrazine and acetochlor will be banned in the second quarter of 2023. Carbaryl, propineb, and thiodicarb will be banned in the fourth quarter of 2023. Antibiotics, including erythromycin, gentamicin sulfate, kanamycin sulfate, oxytetracycline, streptomycin, and tetramycin will be banned in the fourth quarter of 2023.
