SIPCAM Iberia has become a highly innovative company. What lines are you working on?
We are currently working on lines focused on reducing pesticide residues in agricultural crops, as well as developing products that protect crops from pests and diseases and minimize the appearance of residue in the final product. Based on this, our leitmotiv is to enable good agriculture with respectful and healthy products without forgetting to meet the productivity and quality requirements of our end customers.
What do you offer farmers in terms of growing more efficient and higher quality crops?
We actively work in the development of our crop care strategy and the added value we offer is not only a product but an entire comprehensive advisory service to farmers for the management of their crops, while supporting them during all phases.
For example, we differentiate ourselves in terms of having a team of Operational Marketing Delegates dedicated exclusively to advising the distributors and end users of both our products and good practices, to maximize production results, quality and sustainability.
Is the objective to fulfill your commitment a firm bet on the environment?
Caring for the environment is in the DNA of all staff of our company. Furthermore, we recently launched a sustainability project that calculated the carbon footprint of SIPCAM and our main products.
Are SIPCAM products valid for organic crops?
A high percentage of our portfolio is certified organic, but they are used interchangeably in both conventional and organic agriculture, and our goal is to further increase the presence of these products in our catalog.
Both conventional and organic production will be essential in the future and we must be able to satisfy the needs of different types of consumers. We must not forget that producing organic crops in many cases is very difficult currently, given the high density of pests and diseases they suffer from. This loss of agricultural productivity has a direct impact on the price of food, and indirectly on the access to food of the rest of the population who cannot pay this price.
