Chinese agrochemical company Suli's insecticide Diflubenzuron SMILYN TECNICO (980 g/kg) was recently approved for registration in Brazil. This is another significant achievement on Suli’s Diflubenzuron product followed by the recognition of the joint standard by FAO/WHO, which experts from the two organizations reviewed in July 2020.
The registration is held by ProRegistros, a professional registration company acting as Suli’s registration agent. Suli holds the registration of Diflubenzuron Tech and a number of straight and mixed formulations based on this active ingredient in China. The products being promoted and sold in domestic market are Diflubenzuron 500 g/l SC, Diflubenzuron 25% WP (trade name: Biolepicis), Diflubenzuron+ Bifenthrin 20% SC (trade name: Smilyn). It is mainly registered for the prevention and control of American white moth, pedicle moth, peach borer, cotton bollworm in forest, litchi, pomegranate and cotton crops.
Until now, Suli has obtained three independent registrations of its own technical products in Brazil. Several other technical products are waiting in line for registration, according to reports. Suli will actively support its Brazilian partners in registering related formulations by being added as the source of Diflubenzuron Tech.
Diflubenzuron is a kind of low toxic insecticide, which belongs to Benzamide. It has stomach-toxic and contact effects on insect pests. By inhibiting the chitin synthesis, larvae cannot form new epidermis and die from malformation during molting, but its efficacy is slow. The product is particularly effective against lepidopteran pests. It is safe to use and has no adverse effects on fish, bees and natural enemies. Its insecticidal mechanism is entirely different from the standard insecticides in the past. It is neither a nerve agent nor a cholinesterase inhibitor. Its primary role is to inhibit the synthesis of chitin insect epidermis and damage the fat body, pharyngeal side body and other endocrine and gland to prevent the smooth ecdysis of insects.
Diflubenzuron is widely used in fruit trees such as apple, pear, peach, citrus, crops such as corn, wheat, rice, cotton, peanut, and vegetables such as cruciferous vegetables, solanaceous vegetables, melons and other vegetables, and tea trees, forests, etc. It is used mainly to control lepidopteran pests, such as rapeseed, Spodoptera, Plutella xylostella, Beet Spodoptera, Spodoptera litura, Lepidoptera, Peach leaf miner, Citrus leaf miner, armyworm, tea inchworm, cotton bollworm, American white moth, pine caterpillar, leaf roller moth, leaf roller moth, etc.
Suli has been committed to developing, registering, producing and promoting high efficiency and low toxicity pesticide products. Suli is one of the leading domestic manufacturers of chlorothalonil, Azoxystrobin, Fluazinam, Cymoxanil, Dilubenzuron, Boscalid, etc.
Suli has production sites in different industrial parks such as Jiangyin Lingang Chemical Industrial Park, Taixing Fine Chemical Industry Park, Ningxia Ningdong Energy Base, Dalian Changxing Island. All these parks are professional and leveled as provincial or above. Suli can provide global partners with a stable supply of high-quality technical products and support with registration dossiers as well.
