South Africa-based Madumbi Sustainable Agriculture has rebranded to Andermatt Madumbi following a merger with Andermatt Biocontrol.
The merger with Andermatt Biocontrol, pioneers of microbiological products for biological pest control, is a partnership for “a better future,” said Michelle Lesur, Andermatt Madumbi chief executive.
With its head office in KwaZulu-Natal, Madumbi Sustainable Agriculture is a supplier of biorational solutions for farmers. According to Lesur, “innovation will continue to be key in our approach to tackling complicated environmental and social challenges, both globally and locally.
" Together, we remain committed to improved food security and a vision for a world where food safety is no longer a concern.”
Madumbi’s journey began 20 years ago, when founders Andre Fox and Patrick Deal partnered Timbavati Game Reserve to assist local Shangaan communities as they attempted to create a protected elephant corridor. Their goal was to achieve this through sustainable agriculture. It was through a gift of locally grown potatoes known as madumbes that Madumbi Sustainable Agriculture was born on completion of the project.
