XiteBio Technologies Inc. announced that it has received approval for the expanded use of XiteBio® Yield+ to include oilseeds, cereals, legumes & tuber crops, and has also received approval for an extended 2 year shelf-life from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).
XiteBio® Yield+ is the only phosphate-solubilizing inoculant powered by XiteBio’s patented PGPR Bacillus firmus XSB 375. The expanded list of approved crops gives XiteBio® Yield+ the potential for application on upwards of 100 million crop acres across Canada in canola, flax, wheat, corn, barley, oats, pulses, soybeans, potato, sugar beet, etc. XiteBio Yield+ now also offers a 2 year shelf-life that provides retailers and growers with greater flexibility with inventory management when preparing for the 2022 growing season onwards.
Along with an all-in-one packaged liquid formulation that is compatible with liquid fertilizers & herbicides and does not require additional mixing, XiteBio® Yield+ continues to expand its ease of use for retailers and growers. “As growers continually face changing conditions, XiteBio Yield+ provides the flexibility to help them adapt to those conditions” says Michael Schaad, Strategic Manager – Sales & Marketing at XiteBio. “The patented PGPR technology of XiteBio Yield+ allows crops to utilize soil-bound phosphates that would otherwise not be available to them” explains Dr. Manas Banerjee, President & CEO of XiteBio.
Featuring XiteBio’s worldwide patented P-solubilizing technology, XiteBio® Yield+ works to liberate soil-fixed P that would otherwise be unavailable to plants, increasing the soil P getting to plants and decreasing the phosphates present in water runoff from the field. This technology colonises plant roots and works throughout the growing season to help plants maximize growth and cope with stress conditions. In addition to this mode of action, XiteBio® Yield+ also releases phytohormones that encourage root development and siderophores which chelate iron.
