The environmental impact assessment of the high-efficient, low-toxic and low-residue pesticide technical project of Jiangsu Changlong Agrochemicals was publicized for public comment by China’s local government, in July 2021.
Jiangxi Heyi Chemical and Nutrichem respectively hold 51% stakes and 43% stakes in Jiangsu Changlong Agrochemicals. Jiangxi Heyi Chemical is a subsidiary of Nutrichem.
According to the publication, the project encompasses a new build of an annual 4,000-ton tebuthiuron, 1,000-ton flufenacet, 1,000-ton amicarbazone technical as well as 2,200-ton butyl propylthiourea, 500-ton butylthiourea, 200-ton 2-Chlorobenzothiazole, which are intended to be used as the respective raw materials for the company’s own downstream 3,000-ton buprofezin, 500-ton diafenthiuron and 300-ton mefenacet, which are not for sale.
Upon completion, the project will form an annual capacity of 4,000 tons of tebuthiuron, 1,000 tons of flufenacet, 1,000 tons of amicarbazone as well as 2,200 tons of butyl propylthiourea, 500 tons of butylthiourea and 200 tons of 2-Chlorobenzothiazole.
