Corteva Greater China is planning to increase the number of STARPARTNER retailers from nearly 4,000 last year to between 6,000 and 7,000 this year, which may rise to 10,000 going forward, Zheng Ziqin, the company's director, said on June 18.
Corteva is a consolidated entity based on Dow Chemical's and DuPont's agrochemical business units, which was independently launched in the stock market in June 2019. Last year, the company's sales hit US$14.2 billion, up 3% year on year.
Ziqin says that the STARPARTNER retailer program is one of the steps initiated by Corteva to deliver technology and products to the Chinese countryside, where one single retailer can directly cover dozens of local farmers.
Corteva’s technical team will provide STARTPARTNER retailers with targeted agrochemical solutions, supplemented by the use of various insecticides, fungicides and herbicides. At the same time, technical support is provided to prime retailers in product demonstration, technology promotion and sales activities.
Ziqin also mentioned that this year, while working on the increase in the retailers, Corteva is prepared to further upgrade the agrochemical solutions to be provided to retailers.
