Rotam has appointed Garth Drury as Head of Global Regulatory and Government Affairs. Formerly of Bayer, he has joined Rotam in this newly created position that reflects the company’s rapidly developing status in the international crop protection industry.
Based at Rotam’s Regional European headquarters in Lyon, Garth oversees a team of five regional regulatory managers located in key territories worldwide as well as a central product registration team in the R&D centre near Shanghai. He has overall responsibility for gaining new product registrations and defending existing chemistry as well as presenting the business to official authorities and in representing Rotam within industry trade associations.
Bringing the national regulatory functions together, Garth says the position is part of Rotam’s investment and developing infrastructure that has new product registration at the heart of the business. “We are currently operating in 60 countries and have ambitious company targets,” says Garth. “With the goal of increasing our current level of registrations by 76% by 2013, regulatory affairs plays an essential role.”
Having held registration positions at European and global levels for Bayer, and prior to that with UPL, Garth has gained significant regulatory experience that’s matched by agricultural expertise, with a Masters in Agricultural Engineering and an agronomy background.
