On 24th March, the China’s leading agriculture inputs distributor and manufacturer Shandong Sino-Agri Union announced that it will try to raise Yuan590 million to invest in new projects to build facilities producing 3,300 tons of insecticide technical, 10,000 tons of 2-Chloro-5-(chloromethyl) pyridine and 5,000 tons of acetamiprid technical annually.
The funds will be raised to supplement the working capital of the company’s main business operations.
The 3,300-ton insecticide technical project will be implemented by Sino-Agri Union Shandong, a wholly owned subsidiary, and will be located in Fan Town, Daiyue District, Tai'an City, Shandong Province. The project will annually produce 1,300 tons of bifenthrin, 1,200 tons of pymetrozine and 800 tons pf chlorfenapyr, with a total investment of Yuan391.34 million and an initial working capital of Yuan 28.82 million.
Bifenthrin, pymetrozine and chlorfenapyr are novel insecticides with broad spectrum, high efficiency, low toxicity and low residue, and are not prone to the occurrence of resistance from pests while being safe to humans, livestock, plants and natural enemies. These insecticides also feature multiple actions, such as contact kill, stomach toxicity and systemicity.
The 10,000-ton 2-Chloro-5-(chloromethyl) pyridine and 5,000-ton acetamiprid technical project will be implemented by Shandong Sino-Agri Union Shandong, a wholly owned subsidiary, and will be located in Daxing Village, Fan Town, Daiyue District, Tai'an City, Shandong Province, with a total investment of Yuan401.18 million and an initial working capital of Yuan30.81 million.
2-Chloro-5-(chloromethyl) pyridine is an important intermediate of neonicotinoid insecticides, which is currently the world's largest insecticide variety and has a wide range of applications, being efficient and less toxic. Since the release of neonicotinoid insecticides, the demand for 2-Chloro-5-(chloromethyl) pyridine has been growing rapidly in the market.
