In January 2021, the environmental impact assessment pertaining to the annual 22,000-ton pesticide and intermediate project of Gansu Binnong Technology Co., Ltd passed the expert review and was publicized on website for public comment.
Gansu Binnong Technology Co., Ltd is planning an annual 22,000-ton pesticide and intermediate project in the Fine Chemical Park of Lanzhou New Zone in China, with annual 9,000-ton diethyl phosphite, 10,000-ton glufosinate and 3,000-ton bentazone. The project will be implemented in two phases, where the phase 1 includes annual 9,000-ton diethyl phosphite and 5,000-ton glufosinate production lines while phase 2 includes annual 5000-ton glufosinate and 3,000-ton bentazone production lines. The total investment of the project is Yuan915 million.
The product diethyl phosphite is a pesticide intermediate for production of glufosinate. Glufosinate is a pesticide used to control annual and perennial dicotyledonous and gramineous weeds in orchards, vineyards, non-cultivated land and potato fields. Bentazone is an herbicide of contact toxicity.
