AgroPages is launching a program - FAT Video Show, which will invite global experts and companies to share their latest practice and experience from formulation to production, from technology to application via video. In this issue, we present AGCHEM, a subsidiary of Caribbean Chemicals, which is the only formulating plant in the English-speaking Caribbean.
The operation of AGCHEM has a design capacity of 100,000L per month. The effective capacity is currently at 87,000L. The main formulation types include Soluble Liquids (SL), Emulsifiable Concentrates (EC) , Dustable Powders(DP) , Wax Blocks. Approximately 75% of the ingredients used in the manufacturing process are imported from China.
In the following video, Oneil Samuels, Plant Manager of Agchem Plant limited shared the development history of this factory, products and services, process and capacity design of the AGCHEM plant, main formulation types, as well as formulation development challenges etc.
The company plans to invest in more innovative activities, new technologies, and purchase SC and WP formulation equipment to develop new formulation types. They are also targeting new market expansion into Haiti and are about to enter the Dominican Republic.
