Union Minister for Fertilizers and Chemicals DV Sadananda Gowda on Sunday said that the central government has been making efforts to achieve self-sufficiency in the fertilizer production and has taken up rehabilitation of four fertilizers companies at a cost of Rs 50,000 cores.
In a statement issued here, he said that due to various reasons these four fertilizers companies have been shut down. Now the union government has come out with a plan to rehabilitate them, it includes Ramagundam plant work almost completed and ready to produce urea.
He said similarly the government also took up various projects in the pharmacy sectors with three baulk parks and four medicinal devices were included.
He said that two plastic parks were planned to set up in the country. One in Uttar Pradesh Gorakhpur and another one in Mangaluru and provisional approval already been received for these two projects In this connection union government has written letters to state governments to prepare comprehensive plan and submit to the centre and within six months this projects become reality, he added.
Stating that these plastics are related to the industry and this is a joint project of state and centre and necessary funds will be shared by both and about Rs 40 cores was fixed and same will be released in four installments.
