Some days ago, Chinese leading agrochemical company Changqing’s subsidiary Changqing (Hubei) Biotechnical Co., Ltd published the environmental impact assessment for an extension project with annual 16,500-ton pesticide technical and 20,000-ton prothioconazole chemicals.
In September 2019, Changqing Hubei initiated its “annual 13,700-ton pesticide technical and 8,500-ton chemicals project (Phase 1)” in Tianjiahe Portion of Yaojiagang Chemical Industrial Park, Yichang City, Hubei Province. In early 2020, the EIA was approved by the High-Tech Zone Branch of Yichang Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment. The project is currently under construction.
In order to give a full play to the company's technical advantage and to expand market share, Changqing Hubei plans to launch the “annual 16,500-ton pesticide technical and 20,000-ton chemicals project” (Phase 2 as an extension), to be located on the south side of the Phase 1, using the unused plant buildings from the Phase 1.
After the Phase 2 becomes operational, Changqing will be able to produce annually 3,500 tons of glufosinate, 10,000 tons of s-metolachlor, 500 tons of lufenuron, 500 tons of fenoxanil, 1,000 tons of mesotrione, 1,000 tons of prothioconazole, 4,000 tons of 3,4-dichlorobenzotrifluoride, 6,000 tons of chlorobenzyl chloride and 10,000 tons of MEA.
Meanwhile, annual by-product productions to be achieved will include 2,880.37 tons of aluminum hypophosphite, 8,440.43 tons of sodium chloride, 19,066.37 tons of hydrochloric acid, 1,855.5 tons of chlorobutane, 2,036.13 tons of butyl acetate, 2,894.59 tons of ammonium chloride, 200.49 tons of ammonium sulfate, 1,670.51 tons of sodium acetate, 169.51 tons of sodium pyrophosphate, 952.66 tons of sodium sulfate, 149.75 tons of sodium sulfite, 153.81 tons of sodium nitrate, 219.04 tons of potassium chloride, 421.49 tons of sodium carbonate, 156.09 tons of magnesium chloride, 96.17 tons of magnesium hydroxide, 250.00 tons of o-chlorobenzaldehyde and 209.48 tons of alumina.
