Marrone Bio Innovations, Inc. (MBI), a leader in natural product innovation for pest management, announces the signing of a major Distribution Agreement with Syngenta Crop Protection AG, the global leader in crop protection. Syngenta will exclusively distribute MBI’s award winning biofungicide Regalia in specialty crop markets throughout Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
Regalia will complement Syngenta’s comprehensive fungicide portfolio, providing growers with an innovative new tool for disease resistance management with a product that leaves no residues in the harvested produce.
"We are delighted to sign this agreement with Syngenta Crop Protection. It recognizes the value Regalia brings to both its portfolio and its customers,” states Pam Marrone, Founder and CEO of Marrone Bio Innovations. “Partnerships like this are key for MBI as we rapidly expand into global markets.”
Growers will benefit from Regalia’s unique mode of action, which boosts plants’ natural immune defenses to control fungal and bacterial diseases. MBI is currently achieving rapid adoption of Regalia in specialty crop markets in the USA; for example, it is used for bacterial disease control in tomatoes, peppers, citrus and walnuts, and mildew control in leafy greens, cucurbits, berries and vines.
Regalia has a minimal re-entry interval, and a zero day pre-harvest interval, giving growers excellent operational flexibility and a residue-free harvest. It is an important integrated pest management (IPM) tool.
Regalia will be submitted for the EU’s Annex 1 inclusion this spring.
