Wynca announced, on November 4, that its 150,000-ton organosilicone monomer project, which is referred to as the phase II of the “annual 300,000-ton organosilicon-oriented chlorine resource utilization project”, was running to capacity.
The project has been constructed by Zhenjiang Jiangnan Chemical Co., Ltd, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Wynca.
The company says that after the full-scale running of the project, production will increase from 340,000 tons to 490,000 tons, annually, which will further enhance the company’s advantage in the organosilicone monomer market. The increased capacity will help to ensure quality and stability of raw materials required for the company’s high-end product in the downstream of organosilicone and lay a solid foundation for the company’s upstream-downstream integrated industry chain development.
The project is operating in association with the existing glyphosate production of Zhenjiang Jiangnan Chemical, which will contribute to the co-production run and will improve the overall technical level. It will also improve the recycled use of chlorine, increase resource utilization rate to further save energy and reduce consumption to the benefit of cost reduction and enhancement the competitiveness of the company. Following the full-scale running, the company’s production and sales of organosilicon products will escalate to play a positive role in its business performance.
Zhenjiang Jiangnan Chemical is Wynca’s important raw material production base, having completed an acquisition of the assets of Jiangsu Lihong Silicon Materials Co., Ltd in 2013. In late December 2014, Zhenjiang Municipal Economic and Information Commission endorsed the “annual 300,000-ton organosilicon-oriented chlorine resource utilization project”.
The phase I of the project covering annual 100,000-ton organosilicone monomer production was brought on stream in 2017; the phase II of the project covering the 150,000-ton organosilicone monomer production was ready for a trial run in the second quarter of 2020.
