Bayer Crop Science Canada is launching Proline GOLD, a new product for sclerotinia control in canola.
Proline GOLD offers protection against sclerotinia in canola by combining two active ingredients, prothioconazole and the new active fluopyram. The other sclerotinia product from Bayer, Proline, contains only prothioconazole.
“As one of canola’s most dangerous diseases, sclerotinia can severely impact a grower’s yield if not properly managed,” says Jamie Mills, grower and channel marketing manager for Canola at Bayer Crop Science. “Proline GOLD offers growers the best protection in situations where sclerotinia is at its worst.”
The new product comes in a liquid formulation, and, because of its dual modes of action, offers both systemic and contact methods of protecting the crop, with immediate and extended results, the company says.
“The addition of Proline GOLD expands Bayer’s canola fungicide lineup and gives growers a new, powerful tool in the fight against one of canola’s most harmful diseases,” says Mills. “Growers can now choose from two premium sclerotinia fungicides depending on the risk and level of protection required for each individual field.”
