Taking strong notice of black-marketing of fertilizers, the licenses of 17 dealers have been canceled by the administration here, District Agriculture Officer said on Saturday.
Mr Abhinandan Singh said that the licenses of 17 dealers were canceled for manipulations in fertilizer distribution. About one-and-half dozen dealers are still in the circle of investigation.
On the other hand, problems are being encountered in fertilizer distribution since 20 committees in Etawah are closed since the past two decades.
Deputy Director (Agriculture Expansion) Dr AK Singh said that the fertilizer stock in the district is very high relative to the target. The distribution process is being made better day by day. Several teams are regularly conducting raids which has led to a betterment in the process.
Assistant Registrar (Cooperative) Suresh Kumar said that since any committee did not have a Secretary or a building while there were many defaulters, 20 committees including five in Chakarnagar block, five in Mahewa, three in Jaswantnagar, three in Badhpura, two in Bharthana and one each in Takha-Saifai.
The District Agriculture Officer said that fertilizers are being distributed at 11 centers in Basrehar block area, 8 in Saifai, 7 in Jaswantnagar, 6 in Badhpra, 5 in Chakarnagar, 4 in Mahewa, 4 in Bharthana and 2 in Takha.
He said that 38,222 bags of urea are in stock while 2,600 metric tonne racks are coming and hence, there is no shortage of manure.
