The companies that supply fertilizers and agrochemicals, as well as the entities that represent this industry, have guaranteed that they will continue to sell inputs in Argentina.
This announcement came after some companies initiated retaliatory action when the government announced changes in the dollar rate used for imports, with some even announcing the suspension of sales.
Meanwhile, the Chamber of the Argentine Industry of Fertilizers and Agrochemicals (Ciafa) assured that the supply of inputs for the wheat campaign "was guaranteed" and that the prices of products would be decided on the value of the official dollar. The companies that are part of Ciafa are dispatching products normally, so the supply of inputs from the entity for the wheat campaign is guaranteed, they said.
On similar lines, the Chamber of Agricultural Health and Fertilizers (Casafe) indicated through a statement, "The operation continues to develop in accordance with current guidelines and at the value of the official dollar."
This clarification from the entities that represent the suppliers came after Confederaciones Rurales Argentinas (CRA) denounced the “total” suspension in the sales of these supplies, after the Central Bank launched new exchange measures Thursday.
The agricultural entity said that the measure of the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA) "restricts access to the single market free of exchange, generating a type of stocks for importers of essential supplies for Argentine productive activity."
In this regard, Executive Director of Casafe, Federico Landgraf, told Colonia Radio yesterday, "For the moment, the information we have from the partner companies is that the operation is proceeding normally."
"We want to ensure peace of mind to producers and state that the supply is normal at the moment," Landgraf added.
