FMC Corporation has announced that the highlight of its business in Brazil remains the soybean crop, which has registered the highest sales in 2019, while also stating that it had recorded a 19% growth in revenues for this first quarter of the year compared to the same period last year.
“Soybean and corn are crops to which FMC has provided greater focus in recent years. We have strengthened our portfolio and have sought to get closer to the producer, to understand their needs and offer appropriate solutions for each reality,” the company’s Brazilian Business Director, Marcelo Magurno commented
“The good amount of cotton in the international market contributed to significant growth in the planted area of the crop, favoring the business while the company's robust portfolio for sugarcane, also contributed to the results,” he pointed out.
These figures show that FMC is increasingly offering solutions that meet the needs of Brazilian producers. In 2019, the company grew 20% surpassing the mark of US$1.090 billion in net sales, against $911 million in 2018. In global terms, the quarterly turnover of the operation in Brazil represented 16% of the global performance of FMC Corporation.
“Driven by innovation, FMC is committed to the discovery of new active ingredients, product formulations and application technologies. With this, over the years, we have won the trust of farmers with sustainable and efficient solutions,” Magurno said in conclusion.
