Biotrop aims to expand access to organic market

Biotrop, which develops biological and natural solutions for agricultural use, with a commercial office in Vinhedo (SP), and an advanced bacterial multiplication unit in Curitiba (PR), has been working on expanding its market share in the biological and natural segment by 2023.
To achieve this goal while investing in technologies and innovations, the company has also focused its strengths on intelligence, by training market professionals to reinforce its team. The most recent member of the team is the specialist, Carlos Alberto Baptista (New National Sales Director). "I came to share all my experiences accumulated over many years in the market, with the aim of taking Biotrop to a new level," he said.
Graduated from the Luiz de Queiroz School of Agriculture (ESALQ/USP), Baptista is an experienced professional in the area of commercial, having built a career in the agricultural sector. He started his career at Adubos Trevo, where he worked as Sales Supervisor, Regional Sales Manager and finally as General Manager North.
With experience in working for major companies, Baptista also created the FMC team, where he worked for 11 years as Regional Sales Manager, operating in several states of Brazil in diverse cultures, with an emphasis on sugar cane in São Paulo. He then assumed commercial leadership in Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul.
In 2008, he returned to São Paulo and became the Commercial Director of FMC, focusing on direct sales related to soy, cotton and sugarcane crops. He remained in this position until 2015.
The following year, he was hired by Iharabrás as the new National Commercial Director. In 2017, after creating new business boards at the company, he was responsible for the southern region of Brazil.
Recently hired by Biotrop, he took over the National Sales Director, bringing his expertise to the company’s biological solutions commercial team.
Goals and challenges
According to Baptista, his main challenges at Biotrop are, firstly, the creation of a high performance commercial structure, and to showcase the company’s value and generate demand for its products, adding that is also his goal to facilitate Biotrop's access to customers and strategic partners, therefore, delivering sales commitments signed in 2020, and ensuring that its structure can be improved next year. “Our commitment is to start 2021 with the momentum to exceed our goals, through engaging with people and doing everything correctly. We, as leaders, have the mission of challenging people to ensure their development and achieve their goals,” he concluded.
