Bayer adds plant health claims to two new fungicides

The Environmental Protection Agency recently approved the addition of plant health claims to the labels of Interface fungicide and Reserve fungicide, announced Bayer Environmental Science, a division of Bayer CropScience LP. Both fungicide products are formulated with Bayer StressGard formulation technology and have been widely used for excellent, broad-spectrum disease control and improved turf quality on greens, tees, fairways and roughs by golf course superintendents across the country.

"Both Interface and Reserve are excellent products that provide superior disease control, and by incorporating StressGard formulation technology, they also ensure a stronger, healthier plant and denser, more durable turf,” said Jimmy Johnson, fungicide business manager, Bayer Environmental Science. “We are excited the labels now better reflect what the products do for the turf – powerful disease defense and enhanced plant health.”

Interface contains the active ingredients iprodione and trifloxystrobin manufactured using StressGard formulation technology. It provides the convenience of one product delivering turf quality and excellent disease control. Interface enhances the plant’s health by protecting and improving turf’s natural defenses. Treated turf can better fight winter stress resulting in faster spring green up and alleviating summer stress that produces healthier, denser and green turf.

In addition to its StressGard formulation technology, Reserve combines the active ingredients triticonazole and chlorothalonil. University research trials show that Reserve improved the turf density and quality while controlling disease better than other DMI fungicides on the market. Reserve has been proven to be an excellent tool for superintendents maintaining mixed stands of bentgrass and poa.
