Date:02-20-2020
New Zealand EPA approved the use of KUSABI with controls, including maximum application rates, and wind restrictions to prevent spray drift.
The applicant, ISK New Zealand Limited, applied to import for release KUSABI, a fungicide to combat powdery mildew in grapes, apples, and vegetables of the pumpkin and cucumber family (cucurbits).
The active ingredient in KUSABI, pyriofenone, is already approved in Australia, Canada, Europe, Japan, USA and Korea.
KUSABI is in the form of a suspension concentrate and the application methods on grapes and apples are by airblast sprayer, and by ground-based broadcast and aerial spraying on vegetables.
