Eden Research and Sipcam to expand biofungicide sales to Portugal and Benelux
Date:12-24-2019
Eden Research PLC said Monday it has signed a distribution and marketing agreement with Sipcam Oxon Spa for its fungicide product, Mevalonea, covering Portugal and the Benelux region.
Under the agreement, Eden will supply and Sipcam will distribute Mevalone for use as a fungicide for grapes and minor crops in Portugal and the Benelux.
The biopesticide products developer expects the sales of Mevalone to commence in Portugal in the 2020 season.
Meanwhile commercial activities in the Benelux region are expected to begin following the receipt of regulatory clearance in these countries, Eden said.
Sean Smith, chief executive officer, said: "Sipcam has excellent knowledge of Mevalone, having acted as our commercial partner for the product in Italy and Spain."
"Sipcam currently sells Mevalone under the brands 3logy in Italy and ARAW in Spain, and their expertise in these countries is directly transferable to growers in Portugal and the Benelux region," Smith said.
In December last year, the company had said that Sipcam became an exclusive distributor of Mevalone in the US, Brazil, Mexico, China, Argentina, Chile, Japan, and South Africa.
Eden Research shares were up 2.2% in London at 8.94 pence each on Monday.
