Wynca’s 9,000-ton silicon dioxide construction project began construction

On 11th December, 2019,
Zhejiang Wynca announced the completion of all preparatory work for the silicon dioxide project of Evonik Wynca (Zhejiang) Silicon Material Co., Ltd., which officially began construction in China on 10th December, 2019.
The project, which is still under construction, received a total investment of Yuan470 million to increase its annual production capacity of fumed silica from 8,000 tons to 9,000 tons. Its construction period of 18 months is expected to be unchanged, and trial production will begin in the second quarter of 2021.
On 17th August, 2018, Wynca and Evonik China jointly launched Evonik Wynca (Zhejiang) Silicon Material Co., Ltd., which produces and sells silicon products and by-products, via the construction of an annual 8,000-ton fumed silica production facility covering an area of some 26 hectares. The project’s construction technology, product sales and product application-related services will be primarily managed by Evonik.
