Date:11-28-2019
Ning Gaoning (Board Chairman of CHEMCHINA and Sinochem) recently visited the headquarters of Syngenta and ADAMA in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where he met with key partners in the agricultural sector, who are Brazilian congressman Luiz Nishimori Ze Silva, Milton Garbuggio (Brazilian CCAB’s Broad Chairman) and Laurent Martel (French InVivo Bioline’s CEO).
In-depth exchanges were held with regards to the Brazilian agricultural market conditions, as well as development strategies and future trends in agricultural inputs, business models, research, innovation and cooperation.
Ning said that food grains from Brazil, including soybeans and corn, are very popular in China, and soybeans consumed by Chinese people are shipped from Brazil's Santos Port. China’s farm product consumption market is still expected to grow, which will create considerable market potential for Brazil's agricultural exports. As agricultural input producers, CHEMCHINA, Sinochem, Syngenta and ADAMA will continue to offer the best products and services to Brazilian enterprises and growers, to help them expand in the Chinese market.
The Brazilian government recently expressed its intention to establish a free trade zone in cooperation with China, and both sides are exploring the possibility of implementing an agreement for this purpose. Ning expressed his keenness to see this agreement signed between the two sides as soon as possible. Brazil has rich mineral and agricultural resources, and its agricultural products are very popular in China. China has invested in and built many infrastructure facilities in Brazil, and there is a solid foundation for cooperation between the two countries. Ning has confidence that both sides can improve their promising future cooperation.
Looking into the future, Ning stressed that CHEMCHINA and Sinochem are prepared to continue their research and development in more advanced agricultural management techniques and planting technologies, including AI and UAV applications, to create a new era of agriculture through utilizing new technologies. CHEMCHINA and Sinochem are happy to work together with their partners to present high-quality Brazilian agricultural products to global market, as well as to encourage more Chinese companies to cooperate or deepen their cooperation with their Brazilian counterparts in the agricultural business sector on the basis of mutual benefits.
