Nufarm recently announced that it has begun to commercialize its branded product, Impulse, in Brazil, an ethephon-based bacteriostatic growth regulator whose main characteristics include inhibiting flowering, accelerating ripening and stimulating sugarcane sprouting and tillering.
According to agronomist, Murilo Borges, product manager at Nufarm, it is a “high technology tool that will benefit the management of sugarcane crops”. Borges added that several field-level studies conducted by the company and leading researchers in the field have proved that the new Impulse is a strategic tool for the management of sugarcane.
“Its application in accordance with agronomic recommendations reduces sugarcane 'rattling' or Styrofoam. This benefit increases productivity, favors the management of sugarcane in the harvest phase and transfers gains to the milling process of the plants. The arrival of the product in the market, therefore, promotes quantitative and qualitative gains for the sector,” said Borges.
The executive also pointed out that the launch of Impulse is part of Nufarm's broad strategy to offer more branded technologies to the sugarcane industry. “This is a strategic market for the company, where significant investments are being made to accelerate the development of new products and solutions,” concluded Borges.
