Resources on plant disease resistance - Revised differential host tables now available at the website of the International Seed Federation
Date:11-12-2019
Disease resistance is a major goal in breeding new varieties and plays a key role in vegetable crop production and integrated pest management practices.
The ISF Working Group on Disease Resistance Terminology (WG DRT) promotes the consistent use of terminology in relation to disease resistance. One of the activities of the WG is to establish a system that could be used to identify pathogen races/strain based on host differentials and established procedures originating from peer-reviewed scientific publications and relevant industry practices.
Recently the WG completed the revision of differential host tables and also added some new ones. The tables were revised for clarity, accuracy and user friendliness. This essential resource for breeders is now
available on the website.
