Following a competitive review, Bayer Crop Science Canada has expanded its portfolio of business with McCann Worldgroup Canada. Bayer Crop Science Canada conducted a closed pitch among its Canadian roster of marketing communications agencies with the goal of consolidating its business in order to provide greater synergies across its entire product portfolio.
After a comprehensive pitch process, McCann successfully defended their Crop Protection business and picked up Agency of Record responsibilities for the Seeds and Traits portfolios, as well as Bayer's digital agriculture platform, Climate FieldView.
"We've been working with McCann since 2011, and we are pleased to take that relationship to the next level by awarding them our full portfolio of brands," said Lauren Davis, Marketing Communications Manager at Bayer Crop Science. "It was very important for us to consolidate our marketing communications with one agency because, now more than ever before, we are able to offer a full range of solutions to Canadian farmers."
Added Davis, "The Ag category is complicated, and McCann has built an integrated team that deeply understands our business. We have a lot to accomplish and they proved they are ready to take us where we want to go."
"We are thrilled with this news," said Simon Sikorski, CEO of McCann Worldgroup Canada. "The Bayer Crop Science business is very meaningful to us because agriculture is so important to our country. We're proud to be a part of helping Bayer shape the future of agriculture through innovation, sustainability and digital transformation."
Added Karen Pearce, President of McCann West, "This is an incredibly meaningful partnership for us as we continue to work with Bayer to support the Canadian Grower into the future. Over the years and through this process we have created a passionate team who are united by the mission to help our farmers grow healthy, safe and affordable food in a sustainable way."
