Glufosinate-ammonium and Glyphosatelead lead the registration in July, 2019
18 product registrations were approved by ICAMA in July, 2019. Glufosinate-ammonium and Glyphosatelead lead the registration with three approved products respectively. Shanghai Shengnong was granted registration approval for 40% Bifenthrin·Thiacloprid SC and 10% Beta-cypermethrin·Pyriproxyfen ME. Shanghai Shengnong has a patented neonicotinoid insecticide Cycloxaprid which was first registered in China in 2018, providing an alternative solution for the prevention and control of serious agricultural pests.

Less than half of China’s Indoxacarb capacity is in the running
Global Market
Indoxacarb was developed by DuPont and first registered and launched in Spain in 1999. It is mainly used for F&V and cotton to control lepidopteran insects. Indoxacarb has achieved market success due to its low application rate, and a novel mode of action. To date, Indoxacarb has registered and launched in more than 75 countries. It is highly accepted in the application of cotton in India. Its global sales in 2016 reached $210 million. After the merger of Dow-Dupont, FMC acquired Indoxacarb assets divested from DuPont.
Future opportunity
Indoxacarb’s patent has expired in global market. It has excellent effect In the control of rice leaf roller, no less than Chlorantraniliprole. As the resistance to Chlorantraniliprole occurs, Indoxacarb can be used as alternative product. In terms of regional market, its application in the control of the Fall Armyworm in Africa has development potential, and the application in Brazilian corn and cotton is also worthy of attention. It is mainly used in rice in Southeast Asia region, such as Vietnam, where Indoxacarb is facing resistance problems and is usually mixed with other ingredients. And its market acceptance needs to be improved due to cost reasons.
China Production & Export
Indoxacarb is mainly used for rice leaf roller in paddy fields in China. At present, its main production capacity in China is less than 1,000 tons, and the largest supplier has a capacity of 400 tons. At present, less than half of all capacity is in the running. India's Indoxacarb capacity is around 200 tons. In 2018, the main products types of Indoxacarb exported from Chinese were 150g/L SC (37.94%) and 90% TC (15.31%). The top three exporting countries include US (13.84%), Turkey (7.81%) and Togo (7.49%).
