Illinois adds dicamba label restrictions
Date:10-16-2019
The Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDOA) will provide additional label restrictions for dicamba in 2020-these are restrictions in addition to the federal EPA label. These restrictions will go into effect upon approval from U.S. EPA of this 24(c) registration request.
Additional provisions include:
1. No application if temperature is over 85 degrees Fahrenheit or if the forecasted high temperature for the nearest location on application day exceeds 85 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. No applications after June 20, 2020.
3. Keep label-specified downwind buffer on any downfield edge of any Illinois Nature Preserves Commission site.
"The number of off-target complaints received during the 2019 growing season rose dramatically, and the department is taking action to reduce those numbers," says John Sullivan, director IDOA.
