Chitosan firstly approved for use on potato in China

For the first time in China, chitosan · choline chloride 23% soluble concentrate (chitosan 3% + choline chloride 20%) produced by Hainan Zhengye Zhongnong High-Tech Co. Ltd. was granted full registration approval by the Institute for the Control of Agrochemicals, Ministry of Agriculture (ICAMA) on 14th June, for use as a potato growth regulator.
Chitosan, which is a plant inducer (plant growth regulator), was previously approved in China for controlling rice blast, rice black-streaked dwarf virus, cucumber powdery mildew, downy mildew, root knot nematode disease, tomato late blight, viral disease, citrus anthracnose, apple leaf spot disease and tobacco (seedbed) viral disease, as well as for regulating the growth of wheat, corn, young soybean and cotton.
