KWS sells its shares of Razès Hybrides to Arterris
Date:07-11-2019
The German seed company KWS and the cooperative Arterris had decided, more than 25 years ago, to join together in order to carry out corn seed production on the territory of the cooperative (The greniers du Razès, at that time) .
Since then, Razès hybrides has been 51% owned by KWS (based in Einbeck, Lower Saxony) and 49% by Arterris. The management of the industrial tool is carried out by both parties. KWS decided to sell its shares in Razès Hybrides, and naturally proposed this transaction to Arterris, which agreed to become 100% owner. This will aim to complete the Seeds of Arterris system, the first certified seed producer cooperative in France.
For Arterris, this acquisition is the translation of the group's strategy on the seed business, namely to fix value on the territory through production contracts and industrial tools for our members. The collaboration with KWS for 25 years through this partnership has led to the construction of an industrial tool that meets market expectations, from production to dose conditioning. KWS and Arterris have also decided to continue their partnership in seed multiplication of different species, mainly maize. This long-term cooperation will strengthen the partnership between the two companies.
