AgReliant Genetics expands Into Northwestern U.S.
Date:05-15-2019
This week AgReliant Genetics, owner of companies such as AgriGold and LG Seeds, announced its expansion into Minnesota, Nebraska and South Dakota. The company will perform more research and testing in this region.
“Directing greater resources toward the northwestern Corn Belt, which is where we currently see opportunities in market and acreage growth, will support the expansion of our product portfolio and customer experiences now and in the future,” said Mark Herrmann, president and CEO of AgReliant Genetics in a recent news release. “This helps to ensure that AgReliant is well positioned for long-term innovation and success.”
The company is opening a new research station in Sioux Falls, SD and has an expanded testing network focused on geographically-targeted germplasm and corn hybrid production.
“The eastern expansion, coupled with our access to independent globally-positioned research facilities and germplasm through our parent companies—KWS and Groupe Limagrain—provides the ideal environment for developing proprietary early- to mid-maturity hybrids that work for our northwestern farmers,” said Mike Kerns, director of corn inbred line breeding, AgReliant Genetics.
