Date:04-23-2019
By Think Real - On 8 April 2019, the Press Office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People’s Republic of China (MOA) made a notice, predicting that in the near future, most of the wheat growing areas would be hit by heavy rains and high temperature, and the wheat scab may be seriously epidemic in the lower and middle reaches of Changjiang River and the southern part of Huanghe-Huaihe region, and moderately epidemic in northern Huanghe-Huaihe region and North China.
This is a risk to the production of wheat. This aroused great attention from the MOA who then made emergency deployment of the prevention and control of wheat scab and instructed the local administration to take prompt actions to curb the wide spread.
Reportedly, the MOA sent 5 work groups to supervise the prevention and control of main pests & diseases (wheat scab mainly) and offer technical guidance in the key wheat producing provinces such as Henan, Jiangsu, Hubei, Anhui, and Shandong.
