Nebraska farmer develops software solution for seed dealers and small agri-businesses
Date:04-02-2019
Shawn Sullivan farms near Wallace in southwest Nebraska. He also operates Sullivan Seeds, selling Dekalb and Asgrow seed, and equipment and technology products including Precision Planting, 360 Yield Center, Fieldview Drive and Patriot.
Sullivan says he created the Agri-Dealer ordering/invoicing software because he found it frustrating and time-consuming entering orders into several different software programs when dealing with a customer. He says his Agri-Dealer software solution allows small agri-businesses to manage and invoice multiple brands and businesses in one software program.
“My goal, to alleviate some of my own frustrations and knowing that it was frustrating to others, was to consolidate all of those software packages—those invoicing systems—all under one umbrella. So that when they open up to place that seed order for that customer, they can also equip their planter with some precision-type equipment, or their corn head, or some Y-Drops. Or maybe they’re going to offer an alternative solution of chemicals or fertilizers on the side. And they can invoice all that together at the same time.”
Sullivan discussed his Agri-Dealer software solution in this interview with Brownfield.
