Date:03-15-2019
Nufarm announced on Tuesday, March 12, the start of the commercialization in Brazil of the new systemic fungicide Tamiz. As the company's third launch this year, Tamiz is described as a high-tech solution for difficult-to-control diseases that strike the shoots of corn, wheat, beans and coffee plants. According to the company, Tamiz is the result of investments aimed at expanding Nufarm's portfolio of solutions in the Brazilian market.
Agronomist Carulina Oliveira, fungicide manager at Nufarm, said that Tamiz was developed based on the active ingredients azoxystrobin and tebuconazole, and should always be applied preventively.
"These active ingredients act effectively on diseases of economic relevance to producers, such as rust, and Cercospora leaf spot, among others," she said.
Oliveira noted that in tests and research carried out in the previous stage prior to the release of Tamiz, the product also showed significant results when linked to the management of fungi resistant to commercial fungicides in Brazil.
"Applied in accordance with Nufarm's technical recommendations, the fungicide enhances the competitiveness of the producer and boosts the yield of corn, wheat, beans and coffee harvests," said Oliveira. "Combined with other company technologies, Tamiz reinforces the potential for control of the complex disease that affects these crops," she said.
