Bionema appoints Dejex as distributor for their Nematrident® range
Date:02-14-2019
Bionema Ltd announced that it has signed a distribution agreement with Dejex for its NemaTrident® range. The agreement permits Dejex to sell Bionema’s NemaTrident® range of products on a non-exclusive basis to the ornamentals and soft fruits market in the United Kingdom.
NemaTrident®CT, NemaTrident®H, NemaTrident®CT Plus and NemaTrident®F are a Tri-Component solution, developed for the control of Black vine weevil larvae Otiorhynchus sulcatus and Western flower thrips (Frankliniella occidentalis) pupae in horticultural crops. Black vine weevil is one of the most serious pests of horticultural crop which cost approximately £40 million crop damage to UK. Western flower thrips, is a major globally problematic insect pest causing damage to an extensive variety of economically important crops directly as a result of their feeding habits and indirectly through the transmission of harmful plant viruses. Larvae and adults feed on almost all flowering plants causing approximately £5.0 billion crop damage worldwide and up to £50 million in the UK alone.
Bionema’s NemaTrident® Tri-Component solution incorporates a range of highly virulent insect-parasitic nematodes within the Heterorhabditis and Steinernema genera. These nematodes attack and destroy the larvae and immature stage of the insect pests thus preventing future pests from developing. They are safe, non-toxic to users and consumers, decompose rapidly and can be targeted at specific pests to avoid harming beneficial insects. These safe and sustainable products provide up to 95% success rates in combating pests.
