Price & supply trend: pesticide price went down as China’s domestic market experiencing depression

Herbicide

With the continued price fall of crude oil, all staple chemicals are suffering for provisions. Glyphosate technical is declining, most buyers are hesitating to buy. Its price continues to go down, market demand is rather weak. For diquat mother liquid and formulations, there are large stocks on the market, with prices staying wandering around Yuan40,000 per ton. Amide herbicides market remains slow, where prices mostly stay stable.

Some productions in Shandong province have been resumed, but the price of 2,4-D technical still stays at high level and in short supply, which is inadequate to sustain the export demand. The supply of bensulfuron methyl technical remains short for reason of restricted supplies of upstream products. Though the cost of intermediates of pendimethalin technical rises quite significantly, yet all factories have increased capacity and could maintain sufficient stocks. Fomesafen technical market stays stable, where the main sales are mostly the stocks. Trifluralin technical is primarily sold for export purpose, the production rate of factories is at low side, as being limited by the restraint of waste water treatment requirement.

Haloxyfop-R-methyl technical is currently at a low level of stocks. Quizalofop-p-ethyl technical, fluroxypyr-mepthyl technical and nicosulfuron technical are found in short supply, where some of the upstream intermediate productions have been suspended while most downstream technical factories are in a halt, where factories are refrained from making an offer or accepting purchase orders.

The upsurge in the price of resorcinol serves as a strong backup for the prices of oxyfluorfen technical and mesotrione technical. The supply of bentazone technical is being restricted by the suspension of operation of chemical industrial parks, its price stays at the higher level of Yuan120,000 per ton. Clethodim technical is at low a low level of stocks, only a small number of factories are still running at the moment, which brings about the low season for export.

Insecticide

During this week, the price of abamectin technical remains at high level, which is still in short supply. However, the price of emamectin benzoate technical starts to go down as a result of availability of more supplies.

The price of the upstream CCMP of nicotine technical stays high, supplies are adequate and some suppliers are anxious to sell off so as to receive money back, which brings down the market price.

Downstream productions are currently not enough. Phosphorus pentasulfide and ethyl chloride have rebounded to some extent while malathion technical is in short supply. The downstream profenofos technical, chlorpyrifos technical and phoxim technical are at low-load production, where quotations from factories stay firm.

Fipronil technical factories are running mainly for export demand, with production not running in full load and price staying at high level. Chlorfenapyr technical is faced with same situation, fewer stocks are readily available on the market and there is a short supply.

The intermediate 2,6-difluorobenzamide continues to stay at high price level, being found in short supply. This backs up the higher prices of downstream chlorfluazuron technical, hexaflumuron technical, lufenuron technical and etoxazole technical, leading to restricted productions in technical material factories. A continued short supply of upstream intermediates is foreseen, which may even run into short supply more seriously.

Fungicide

The production of difenoconazole technical is running at low load in this week, its upstream intermediate is in short supply with fewer spot supplies, which imposes great pressure in supply of the product. Tebuconazole technical is in short supply, but source of supply is increasing while demand is not too big, so its quotation on the market is going down. On the side of epoxiconazole technical, it is supplied mainly for export purpose.

Production capacity of pyraclostrobin technical are increasing step by step, adequate supplies are foreseeable. For this reason, the number of purchases is small and price is going down. The problem of supply of the upstream benzofuranone for azoxystrobin technical still remains unsolved, productions in the factories are restricted.

The supply of carbendazim technical and thiophanate-methyl technical remains stable. Hymexazol technical is in short supply, being supplied mostly for export purpose. Demand for fluazinam technical is increasing, production of same is more centralized in certain factories. Under such a circumstance, its price is going up and supply is going short. Prochloraz technical factories are running with restrictions, no stocks are readily available on the market and price stays at a high level.
