Date:01-11-2019
On January 4, 2019, the two patented compounds containing insecticide Qintianzhu were launched in the South China rice production region, as jointly developed by Biogen in alliance with Corteva after five years of hard work, through technical research and hundreds of field trials.
Qintianzhu is a triflumezopyrim.cyantraniliprole 23% SC, and its core ingredient triflumezopyrim is an epochal product and sets a new benchmark for control of rice planthopper. The product has a brand new structure and brand new action mechanism without cross resistance to neonicotine and pymetrozine. Cyantraniliprole is a patented compound of FMC, being an upgrade product of chlorantraniliprole. It has a broader insecticidal spectrum and higher effect on controlling rice stem borer and a rice leaf folder.
One single application of Qintianzhu can eradicate the three major rice insect pests, being applicable to paddy rice via a variety of spray machines. The product can significantly increase the tiller number and thousand seed weight as well as increase yield, and is expected to guide the direction of the worldwide rice production.
Among the subsidiaries of Noposion, Biogen has performed the best with international cooperation. The company has cooperated with multinationals such as BASF, Bayer, Corteva and FMCs in the joint development of patented compounds.
