Barenbrug, a company in Brazil, will provide a hybrid brachiaria, Mulato II that can increase productivity in the animal production systems. According to the maker, Mulato II has high quality forage, increasing the values of raw protein between 8% and 16% and presents a high digestibility levels that ranges between 55% and 68%.
According to the Technological Development Coordinator at Barenbrug, Paulo Ramalho, the crop will be commercialized, encrusted with a minimum purity of 95% and with new treatment from the Yellow Jacket brand. Beside the fungicide, Yellow Jacket includes insecticides of a wide spectrum, nutrients and biostimulators that bring more protection and speed for the establishment of plants in pasture."
“Mulato II is a requiring hybrid, which bring good soil fertility, typical characteristics of crops with high productive potential. The hybrid has elevated dry material production per hectare and high capacity of tillering and regrowth after grazing, which brings high animal productivity in agricultural systems,” he explained.
On the other hand, Ramalho guided all farmers to seek help from agronomist and zootechnics for the implementation of the cultivar in their properties. According to him, the new brachiaria requires some basic levels of soil to achieve the expected yield.
“The planting in areas subject to waterlogging or that present prolonged periods of dry spells can be avoided. However, in case of doubt, the farm owner of any region in the country can seek help from the technical staff of Barenbrug to obtain more information,” added Ramalho.
