CID AgTech signs distribution agreement with Phenospex BV
Date:08-23-2018
Building on steady sales growth, industry awards, and positive market reception of its crop measurement sensors, Phenospex BV of the Netherlands did a scan of North America for a local distribution channel. After sizing up CID AgTech of Washington State, the two companies reached an agreement as of July 2018. CID AgTech is a full-service distributor of technologies for high throughput plant phenotyping (HTTP). Phenospex designs and manufactures smart sensors for real-time analysis of crops in any environment, targeting plant science, breeding, and commercial agriculture.
Led by Dr. Edwin Reidel, a plant scientist with nearly a decade of experience with plant measurement technologies, CID AgTech offers consultative sales, installation, and support services. Edwin returned recently from a visit to Phenospex headquarters in Heerlen, the Netherlands. “After a week of intensive, hands-on training with my friends and colleagues at Phenospex, I am more confident than ever that they offer the most deployable, easy to use, and accurate phenotyping product in the PlantEye F500,” says Dr. Reidel. “Their gravimetric devices, such as the DroughtSpotter and FieldScale allow precision measurement of plant transpiration and can be combined with the PlantEye in installations allowing unprecedented measurement power.”
The agreement will cover mostly new business, with some existing clients and key accounts interacting directly with Phenospex.
Dr. Grégoire Hummel, Phenospex Co-Founder & CEO, said:
“We are happy to partner with CID AgTech to cover the increasing demand for our products in the U.S. and Canada. CID AgTech has the technical and the biological knowledge to optimally supply and serve customers in North America.”
