Valagro introduces Opifol and YieldOn to the Indian market
Date:08-06-2018
Valagro, a leader in the production and marketing of biostimulants and other speciality nutrients, is preparing to launch Opifol and YieldOn on the Indian market. This comprehensive and effective solution aims to improve the quality and productivity of row crops.
The launch will take place tomorrow the Aditya Park Inn Hotel in Hyderabad. The event will involve Indian farmers, technicians and distributors alongside experts from some of the country's leading academic and research institutions, such as Dr P. Jeyakumar, Professor & Head at the Department of Crop Physiology, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), and Dr Sheshu Madhav, Principal Scientist at the Indian Institute of Rice Research (IIRR).
Together with Marketing Managers from Valagro HQ, they will discuss the benefits of YieldOn and Opifol in row crop farming, illustrating the results of their application on certain crops that are particularly significant for the Indian agricultural market, including rice. By 2022 India will become the world most populated country (from 1.3 to 1.4 billion people) with only the 30% of the arable land available as compared to China. The pressure on food production, and thus on farm-land, will increase accordingly. As such, improving yield and productivity for crops like rice, cotton, soybean etc.. can help meet the ever-growing demand.
The innovative solution is a product of the exclusive GeaPower technology platform and is composed of the Opifol line, based on a unique combination of macro- and micro-nutrients characterised by rapid uptake, and of YieldOn, the new biostimulant based on a unique selection of plants and algae extracts. The solution offers an effective response to the demand among Indian farmers for a greater return on investment, combining productivity, quality and sustainability in the field of row crop farming.
Luca Fornara, Country Manager of Valagro's India branch:"It is no coincidence that this launch comes just a few weeks after the Valagro for Future Farming project event, where we invited Indian farmers, distributors, opinion leaders and experts to demonstrate how Valagro's innovation can help make Indian agriculture more sustainable and productive. Like that event, these two days dedicated to introducing YieldOn and Opifol share the objective of providing concrete responses to the needs of Indian farmers by supplying them with increasingly innovative, comprehensive and effective solutions".
