Gooseneck Implement, a John Deere Dealership located in northwestern North Dakota, is excited to announce the acquisition of Dakota Farm Equipment.
Dakota Farm Equipment was a 5-location John Deere Dealership located in southwestern North Dakota. The acquisition was finalized July 23.
Through this acquisition, Gooseneck will expand to have locations in Dickinson, Beach, Bowman, Elgin, and Lemmon, SD. With this addition, Gooseneck Implement's territory will now cover most of western North Dakota, as well as northern South Dakota and southeastern Montana.
Dakota Farm Equipment has been run by the Ballard Family as a third-generation John Deere Dealership. Kevin Borud, COO of Gooseneck Implement, said Gooseneck would like to thank the Ballard family for all their hard work and dedication to the farming families and communities that supported them.
"We have a lot of respect for the Ballard family, their employees and their customers," said Borud. "We look forward to continuing to support the farmers and ranchers in this area, and will continue to build on the strong foundation the Ballard family has established with Dakota Farm Equipment over the past 74 years."
Jamie Melgaard, CEO of Gooseneck Implement, said this expansion will give area producers access to additional resources and expertise to help them become more productive and profitable. Both Melgaard and Borud would like to welcome the 85+ new employees to the Gooseneck family.
"Along with our business partner, John Deere, we look forward to working with all the producers in our region who feed the world for many years to come," said Melgaard.
